    Survey

Once upon a time a very long time ago, Leon Marrick did an Angband survey. Seems to me like it would be a good thing to do again.

Pav has agreed to host such a thing here.
    1. How should it compare to Leon's (apart from updating the variant list)?
    2. How should the info be collated and displayed?
    3. If the answer to that is by some sort of webform, can someone easily do one? Not my strong point.
    4. Should this be a regular thing, or a perpetually running thing, or what?

    Any ideas and opinions welcome.

I'd love to see and take part in a survey.

So this is a survey to decide what should be in the survey?

I'm not sure - what do other people think?

I think we need a survey committee, and a survey-committee-terms-of-reference subcommittee. At least.

<serious>I think it needs to be quite short and focused to be of optimal value. Do we want to know about people's playing habits, or people's feature requests for the future, or people's opinions of development management, or what?

I think most of the pressing issues are dealt with day-to-day on the forums; I was actually thinking of something a bit more unfocused and long...

I would favour spreading the net as wide as possible (so putting notices on roguebasin and wherever else we can think of) and hoping to hear from some people outside the usual discussion circle. And I would like to give people the opportunity to say what is important to them, and leave questions open-ended.

open ended questions are cool, but remember we need to tally things to have useful poll results, mebbe include open ended questions at the end, after the traditional stuff
