I'm having trouble deciding on what weapon to use. I understand this is probably a common thing.

I've been using 'Osondir' that has nice stat bonuses and is Blessed, but I just found 'Nimloth' and I get 4 blows plus a speed bump.

Nimloth is also Blessed, I used it for a long time with my priest winner, I'd go with the speed probably.

Well I finally found rPois. The problem is, it's The Leather Shield of the Haradrim with an aggravates monsters nearby thing on it. Is that going to be a huge problem?

It sort of makes me a wrecking machine with 5 blows and 2 shots though.

EDIT: Bard is sweet. I've been giving 'D's the business

That's a pretty winning shield, very useful for making things not be alive any more.

Including but not limited to the character wielding it

Heh, I've been at Ungoliant depths without rbase. Lost a character to Huan with a 1600 point frost breath once. Now that he's purple, that's less likely to happen.

Who decided Huan should be hostile? Turin I could buy, but Huan?
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to bind them.
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness interrupt the movie.

The @ is by far the most evil monster in the game. Why wouldn't Huan be hostile?

                      You cannot double resist poison.
No, that's not right. Poison can be double resisted in the same way as acid/elect/fire/cold : one (or more) "permanent" resists and one (or more) "temporary" resists together reduce the damage to 1/9 of nominal.

The one that's odd in this regard is confusion: having both permanent and temporary confusion resistance does not seem to reduce the damage from a confusion breath attack any more than having only one or the other. (Of course, I always found to odd that confusion breath ever caused any physical damage in the first place.)

I couldn't help it, the damn guy kept on slobbering over me, and getting in my way. I tried to leave him be but I accidentally bumped into him and he died.

Incidentally, max damage from poison is 800, not 850. Max double-resisted damage is therefore a whopping 88.
