Just wondering what people think about how I should proceed with this character (equipment, etc)?

Then get some more consumables, mostly !rMana, then laugh and manastorm morgoth to death.

The permanent curse on the One Ring would only be an issue if you ever planned on removing it. But as long as you can deal with aggravation, there's no real reason not to leave it on all the time. It's just that good.

It is definitely abusive to play below DL100 before you kill M. You really ought to go up a couple DLs.
