I'd always take what the game would give to me, because the RNG isn't graceful on other occasions.
The other day I lost a high level ranger deep in the dungeon (because of pure stupid behavior, as usual ^^). I started a new game and choosed to play a wizard. On the first dungeon level the poor guy stumbled into a spiked pit and suffered point after point or painful poison until he passed an I was pissed off.
I would never complain about OOD findings knowing that the RNG is never generous, just luring and lurking.
