    Wanted: Museum for town level

I mean, throw away artifacts? Sell 'em to shops? No thanks.

"A museum is a building or institution which houses a collection of artifacts."

I think a museum that you could drop artifacts into (but not pick back up of course, it's a museum ) would be nice... You could view what you have gotten "rid" of, sort of a trophyboard.

I completely agree - check out:

I think it would be great to be able to donate artifacts (including the cursed one) and spectacular items to a museum at the town level. I hate finding one of a kind or spectacular items and then either leaving them in the dungeon or selling the for a fraction of their worth when I do't even need the money anyway.

This crops up every few years. Now that we have a knowledge menu which tracks every artifact you've found, what is the need for a museum? Instead of going into the museum, just call up the knowledge menu and recall the artifact details.

This is true... I had not thought of that. But I don't believe you can recall spectacular non-artifacts. Like this item, the best non artifact weapon I ever found:

          a Scythe of Slicing (Holy Avenger) (8d4) (+18,+20) [+4] (+4)
It increases your wisdom by 4. It slays demons, undead, and all
evil creatures. It provides resistance to fear. It sustains your
constitution. It is blessed by the gods. It grants you the ability
          to see invisible things.

What's the reason not to have one? It adds flavor, and if a player wants to donate valuable artifacts rather than sell them, why not let him?

I would not limit the museum to artifacts. I would like to exhibit all kinds of mushrooms, slime molds, actually every get-able item you can find in the dungeon.

For that matter, it would be kind of cool if you could include the contents of the museum in your character dump. Then you would have a way of showing off some of the more interesting / unusual items your character had found.

And again, I think that once you donate something to the museum, you should not be able to get it back. So there would be no impact on gameplay. Donating something to the museum would be the same as leaving it on the dungeon floor or selling it, the difference being you would not get money for it and you would be able to view the item after the fact.

Because it feels bad to sell artifacts or leave them on the floor, regardless of the fact there's no objective difference.

309 other priorities (and that number rises every day at the moment).

Tell you what - you code it, I'll test it and commit it if it works.
