A little inconsistency...

In fact the problem comes from the english language that uses "tarentula" for many spiders. There is the Mygalomorphae family -- see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mygalomorphae -- which contains a lot of spiders, which are indeed venmous but to a certain extent. In Europe, the word "tarentula" describes a completely different spider, the Lycosa Tarentula -- see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycosa_tarantula, which venom is harmless to humans, but can paralyze smaller animals. Let's just say the "giant" version we have is poisonous and big enough to treat humans (or elves or whichever race you pick) as a "smaller" animal... -
Tarantulas themselves are not poisonous, but they do contain venom glands and inject venom into their prey through their fangs. All species of tarantula are venomous and contain venom and they use it primarily for hunting prey. This does not mean people are at high risk of being envenomed by tarantulas.

You got me to read up on tarantulas. Thank You! However, what I read is that a regular tarantula is mildly poisonous. Making a giant tarantula more poisonous seems like a small quibble. IMO if you want to quibble, you should invest your energies in the idiotic thrown damage thread.Leave a comment:

In real life, tarantulas are not poisonous, so they should not have BITE:POISON but simply BITE:HURT. To keep the poisonous bite of this spider, maybe simply rename it to something else?Tags: None
