I often cover the lower right section with a firefox window so i can watch hulu or whatever. This may be why I die so many unnecessary deaths...
Post your window arrangements.

Here's My layout. I got a nice big monitor/tv for Black Friday so there are many windows open. The most important xtra windows are messages/monster list/item list/ monster recall (sort of). The object recall at the lower right is just an afterthought, to fill out the the rest of the screen (1920x1200) but I often swap it with the equipment window when there is a useful activation item to keep track of.
I do enjoy Pav's layout more thoughHe once had an awkward moment with a Morgoth, just to see what it felt like. Should he ever be cut, rubies would spill from his veins.
He is: the most Interesting @ in the world.Comment

I've recently acquired a 27" iMac, but still run *bands in an Ubuntu virtual machine sometimes (or a Windows VM, for that matter). Here are my OS X and Ubuntu (SDL) setups:

Wow, that's also something I dream of. Playing Angband on a 27+ inch display, preferably with a resolution high enough to display the whole level map at once.
These days I play with one window Å• la Pete Mack, just maximized having 56 x 146 charsComment

In true ASCII style

Sometimes I need to extend the item list and monster list further down if a vault appears. That's also when I usually go around squelching items. (A scroll bar would be nice)
I rely on previous messages a lot since I have the game skip through -more- prompts.
I have a good enough memory to keep my inventory and my equipment in my head.

I don't need recall (already know pretty much all monsters) or messages except rarely. Inventory is useful to see if my rods are charged or not. Main window is bigger than others. Map shows me my surroundings using as small font I can still see. Monster list is useful, because you see what your @ sees even when you don't (offscreen monsters).Comment

I ordered myself a 26" 1920x1200 yesterday. First new monitor since 2002. Can't wait!"Been away so long I hardly knew the place, gee it's good to be back home" - The BeatlesComment

Funny you should say that - I started scouting 1920x1200 monitors two years ago, thinking they'd come down dramatically (in price), but they haven't really. I should indeed have bought one then. Ho hum."Been away so long I hardly knew the place, gee it's good to be back home" - The BeatlesComment

I play on a 17" laptop with an external 22" monitor as well, placing the current window, previous messages and the map on the left screen. Inventory, Character stats and monster recall on the right screen.
I have never tried Monster List. I don't even know what it looks like, maybe I should... Project for tonight I guess. I found Smeagol again at dlevel 2 again and got him with my priest (luckily lvl 9). Am I the only one who finds him that shallow?Comment

Back around Thanksgiving time this display was $260 with free shipping; pretty hard to pass up. It's lovely being able to fit so much stuff onto the display.Comment
