Because r1824 implements the changes originally discussed on page 3 of this thread.
That is to say, you can no longer recognize artifacts at a glance from detection effects, so Ringil and the artifact daggers will show up as the standard for their kind: 2d5 and 1d4, respectively. A weapon's actual base damage dice are not revealed until you are aware of that weapon's combat bonuses. This happens after you wield it and whack something with it, or identify it. Once you are aware of the weapon's combat bonuses, you will see the actual damage dice as normal.
Also, launchers that increase shooting power (bows of extra might and most standart bows) will now display the full multiplier, once worn or identified.
