Just installed Linux and was wondering where I could find a version of angband for linux?

Here's one way to do it:
Open up the terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
Type the following command: sudo apt-get install angband
You can fire it up by simply typing "angband" in the terminal after that.Comment

I've got the same question after I installed Mandriva2010.
I'm a newbie in Linux... so... I tried to make angband from source but it doesn't work as my Mandriva doesn't recognize command "make" in terminal. What additioanal packages I should install?Comment

I'm not sure how packages work in Mandriva, but you'll need at least something with gcc (the GNU C compiler) and some libraries like libncurses, and preferably libsdl and libgtk. Sometimes there are packages xxx and xxx-dev - you usually need the -dev version.

I can't find an online listing of the packages Mandriva supports, so it's hard to tell you exactly what you need.
You definitely need gcc, make and autotools to build. You will also need at least ncurses or x11 (probably -dev packages, depending on how Mandriva does things). If you could point me to an online listing of Mandriva packages I could be more specific.Comment
