    Possible bug in nightlies

I'm playing a high-elf ranger with randarts in the current nightly (current as of two nights ago), and I noticed when I killed Saruman that he only dropped three objects (I killed him in between some doors and with arrows, so there were only three areas to drop within reach). Since then, I've been watching and no matter what, when I drop baddies in tight areas, the result is the same. I've never seen a drop stack. Since I lost a bunch of Saruman's loot this way, I was wondering if someone could let me know if this was intention or a bug.

And before anyone asks, yes, I checked and I don't have birth_no_stack on.

Why do you think Saruman dropped more than 3 objects? It's probably just the reduction in drop sizes.

Hrm, that could be it. Has the drop decrease been that pronounced? Saruman used to drop 12-15 for me, so quartering it was kind of a surprise. I admit I'm new to the altered drops, but I hadn't seen any stacking before that either. I'll have to kill a bunch of critters in a small area to make sure it works.

I think I found a bug while playing the r1774 nightly. If you try to use a wand, staff or rod and fail, it still uses a charge. If I had to guess it looks like this bug may have been added in r1769.

Don't tell buzzkill or he'll want to keep it as a feature. Fixed in r1775.

By the way, I think the bugfix in r1775 was accidentally clobbered. The bug is back in r1792 at least.

Thanks for paying attention, fixed again in r1802.
