    activating mushrooms

I'm playing 3.1.1.1626 and I'm looking at some unidentified 'shrooms, and it says:

    > 3 Blue Mushrooms
    > dropped by a Mature blue dragon at 2000 feet (level 40)
    > You do not know the full extent of this item's powers.
    > It can be activated.
    > Nourishes for around 400 turns.

So what I want to know is, how do I wield the mushroom to use the activation? :-)

(Once I Identify the mushroom, the bogus activation goes away)

This was an issue with a previous nightly, but it has been fixed. Have you tried a newer version?

I think this is what you're looking for.

Actually the bug here is that the exact amount of nourishment should not be revealed until the item is IDd - that was fixed in r1738. The line "it can be activated" is printed when any unIDd item produces an effect. In this case, you activate it by eating it. There is currently no provision in the code to distinguish consumables from non-consumables, apart from tedious filtering by tval. That said, it might be worth saying "It can be eaten" instead. I'll see how easy this would be.

EDIT: Quite easy, in fact. r1753.
