Scrolls of mapping reveal also stairs, but not secret doors. Assuming I'm not going senile this didn't happen before - is this intentional?

Also a sling of power revealed it was ego as soon as i picked it up, without me trying it first to see it's +tohit/+towound.

The latter is WAD, I think. Pseudo will now tell you of Power or of Accuracy, because there's no way to identify those egos otherwise. You don't have to shoot with it.

The former is also WAD, and I'm pretty sure mapping has never revealed secret doors.

sorry, but what does "WAD" mean?

on the issue of ?mapping , i know it never revealed secret doors, my point was that before it also didn't reveal stairs. (i now see i could have avoided the secret door reference, at the time it seemed not such a bad idea since the spell effect reveals both at the same time)

I assume WAD = Working As Designed

Mapping always reveals stairs for me. For some reason they disappear after earthquake or destruction. The stairs don't disappear, I mean, except from the map.

The range on mapping seems not exactly the same as detection range, so that could also be part of it if your missing stairs were at some boundary condition.
