      My standard book inscription is:

@p1@m1@b1@G1!d!k!v (Which is number 1 for pray, magic, browse, gain, confirm before drop/sell, kill/squelch, throw)

Scrolls, Rods of Recall I use !* (Confirm before doing anything)

An interesting inscription that I don't usually use is =g which will make you always get that item when you walk over it... could put it on !CCW, !Healing, !Restore Mana, etc.

@dhegler, if you 'I'nspect an item, you will see where it came from (depth and source).

        Cool info! Thanks!

Why when I inscribe my ammo with @t1 and macro t1@t or t1a@t, it doesn't work? Is there a macro for beginners posted here somewhere?

inscribe ammo with @f0, but 0 can be 0-9

          then make a macro: f0*t\e\e\e\e
that macro fires ammo 0, at the last target, then clears the messages that appear.

This will be fixed I've been told.

This! I noticed the same, very annoying and very hard to realize that that is what is annoying me ;] I have a sneaking suspicion this is done once more for handhelds.. Maybe the number of squares ( 11 in Classic Vanilla ) should be a function of the terminal size ?

My guess is with the current fixes to TMJ, that you dont need this option any more, so it's been helpfully removed for you ;]

            Agreed.

It is indeed annoying, it does not make sense suddenly characters can determine +x bonuses on weapons, but not notice a worthless item ? Come on..

Macros have added a whole new benefit to the game that I never used before... One F key for identify on the floor, one for shooting, four for major attack spells, one for detect. It must keep my key count to 50% of what it used to be!

Any docs on explaining exactly how macros and these inscriptions work?

BTW, for the person who mentioned about the shooting, I use the rogue-like keyset that uses "t" for shooting. Any reason my {@t1} and macro:t1*t not work?

Macros are always in terms of the original keyset.

So, I would then also have to inscribe as {@f1} and macro [f1*t]... I think that now explains A LOT of why I have had trouble with some...
