I didn't realize I was going to touch off such debate on the subject when I asked the question, but I am glad that I have...

But that potion is the worst. I quaff that damn thing every time.

And don't get me started on time breathers.
I am generally not averse to experience drainers and the method by which you can restore. The only thing I disagree with are time breathers also (Time Hounds, Time Vortex, etc) due to the fact that not only can they reduce experience, but reduce stats AND there is no way to avoid this except avoid the creatures, which is easier said than done sometimes. Just last night, in fact, I was stuck at DL59 in a small corner and a pack of Time Hounds clogging up the corridors out of my corner. I only had two ways out - teleport or go back up the stairs I just came down. I ended up teleporting right into ANOTHER pack of Time Hounds. Luckily it wasn't too bad.

Ah, Genocide. Or banishment, or what ever it's called anymore. A good friend.
