    UI requests

When you inspect a launcher, it would be nice to see how much damage they do with bog standard ammo. When deciding whether to change from my longbow to a light crossbow, I have to equip it, then get some bolts and then inspect the bolts to see if they do more damage. Unless I'm missing an easier way to do it.

Selling and discarding items directly from your home would be great. When I come back from a trip and both my inventory and the home are both full it is a complete pain to move stuff about between them. Having a swap command would be nice too (if there isn't already), rather than having to temporarily drop something outside.

Selling could be done to the shop where you would get the best price. You could even add on the relevant turn count to get there and back if people are worried about that sort of thing (which I'm not).

How about the "Filthy Urchin Courier Kompany"

Upon your command, a Filthy Street Urchin would take an item from your home and sell it at one of the various shops of his choosing. He would then (most likely) immediately return to you with the proceeds , less his fee, ranging from 10% to 50%.

It would simplify selling (at a cost) because now all you would have to do is go home, sell everything, then go shopping. It works even better if you don't have any shopping to do.

I'd really like to see the Speed indicator in shop screens (including the home) so you know straight away if you've overloaded yourself.

Ah yes I forgot about the urchins. Do they just steal your money rather than your items? If so perhaps instead you could have an option when in shops to sell stuff that is currently sitting in your home.

I find it a bit annoying trying to clear out old stuff you no longer want from your home. Even just throwing it away is a bit of a pain, especially if your inventory is full too.

This is another example of how things could be improved by treating stores like regular spaces. You ought to be able to destroy what is in home slot a with 'k' '-' 'a'.

Seriously though, you just blew my mind. Would the inventories just get placed on the ground in a single tile, and there would be modified versions of the g, d, I keys (i.e. they modify AU)?

That's what I've been pushing since the store interface changed. A small side effect of AU changes on occasion, autopickup and squelch modified, and you'd need to change drops to land in the same space [I never did understand items flying 20 feet when dropped], but everything else as if the inventory was on the ground. I guess things get a little tricky if you use a cold ball to destroy potions you cannot afford, but AU is a signed variable so even that is not so big a deal.

It's a throwback to "UI copes badly with multiple things on the floor" time, which in turn is a throwback to "only one object can be on a floor grid" time. I agree that it's annoying and serves little purpose. I do like the scatterbomb effect when you kill a big monster, but apart from that I'd much rather they all fell straight down.

I like how such a system would unify the 'l'ook and 'I'nspect functions. If you implement you-break-you-buy you should also add another store: the debt counseling agency.

I prefer the terms "lootgasm" and "dropsplosion." It's also kinda neat how you actually have to walk around to ID the stuff, makes you really feel like you're wading through the treasure. I'm not especially attached to it though, so if there was a good reason to make everything drop straight down, it would be no big loss, and the little piles (< 6 items) aren't any fun anyway.

                    *applause*

...and if you destroy what's in stores, your account automatically gets debited.

edit: ah, I see Marble Dice had the same idea.
