If there was some way to arrange for creatures to use the weapons they've got, that would be cool, but probably beyond the scope of Angband. It always makes me laugh when I take Calris, or something, of some mook that couldn't scratch me and took two hits to kill.A/Z/Steamband W H- D c-- f PV+ s- TT? d P++ M+

Well, Calris has -20 to hit, doesn't it? Maybe that's why the mook couldn't scratch you. He probably had that on top of a heavy weapon penalty. One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to bind them.

Having uniques automatically drop their art items would be too overpowered.
My friend had a nice idea though, which would make it more likely for uniques to drop their item: If a unique has an artifact associated with it, then have it drop at least one of that base item type.
Example: You kill Wormtoung. You see soft leather boots.
Clearly, with monsters like sauron or smeagol, their is no base item type for the plain gold ring, so you'd have to work around that. But It'd be nice and funny if Sauron always dropped some gold colored ring, just to get your hopes up.Comment
