Is there a port for Windows Mobile?

Having just recently acquired a Samsung i900 phone which runs Windows Mobile 6.1, I'm wondering if there's any version of Angband that I could install on it. I did notice a WinCE port of FAngband, but having never had a device like this before, I have no idea if that's usable or not. FWIW, the i900 has a 240x400 full colour screen and is driven by a Marvell PXA312 cpu @ 624MHz.

    cheers,

    - b.

There's AngbandCE, but it's old. Also you'll have to get it from an archive page. http://web.archive.org/web/200302021...com/angbandce/.

    Personally I'd rather play POWDER
    Currently turning (Angband) Japanese.

It's not just usable, it's awesome. There is also a port of Oangband here.

There's also not much in principle stopping other variants being ported in the same way; the main issues I can see are
      • The CE port is not GPL free and
      • No-one has been bothered to yet.

Thanks for the tips guys. Never heard of POWDER before so I'll have a look at that too. D/loading both FAngband & POWDER to my phone right now... more time wasters! Yay!

On a side note, if someone was to attempt a port of Vanilla to Win Mobile, what would you use for a development toolchain? Is there a gcc cross-compiler for this architecture? (pardon my apparent noobish-ness, but I've only ever tinkered with C on Linux/*nix platforms)

        cheers,

I hacked the old 292 Angband port to work with VGA WM devices and then did the FAangband port to WM which Nick used as the basis for the Oangband port.

The dev environment is eVC 4.0. It is dated now and I had to frig it a bit to work with Vista. There is no barrier to porting Vanilla Angband (the inclination against free time coefficient isn't high enough for me yet). Any other questions, let me know.
