    hitpoint warning without sound

So in general Angband is a game without sound but whenever the hitpoint warning is triggered there is some kind of warning sound. I could see why people would want this but is there a way to turn off the sound completely?

I could put the hitpoint warning to 0 and that would sort of solve the problem but then I also don't get the colored text warnings about being low on health which are useful and which I would like to keep. Can I change this in the options somewhere so that I do get the hitpoint warnings but not the warning sound?

Without changing the code, it is not currently possible to disable the sound that accompanies the visual hit point warning. There's been suggestions before that the terminal beep (which is what is used for the hit point warning) should be affected by the current option for enabling or disabling sounds. Alternatively, could get rid of bell() call at player-util.c:232-234 or add a separate option which turns on or off the terminal beep.

Go to the Options menu (=), select User Interface options, go to Use Sound and flip it to no.

        Monkey:
See above. It isn't a normal sound. It's a direct library call to the "bell".
