??? i lost my W slot

Playing a ranger in 4.1.3
obviously quiver full of stuff
have 5 arrows in inventory slot W
decide to drop them in favour of a potion of *Heal
drop arrows: "you dont have room for this item"

??????????????????

check (i), slots populated down to V
nothing is slot W
cannot pick up item







has anyone seen this before?

Go ahead and post it here. It'd be worth looking at to see if the problem hasn't been fixed between 4.1.3 and the 4.2.* versions.

Thanks, but could you just zip the relevant savefile from lib/user/save and post that? I don't need the other files.

you can use the magic Delete button that solves every problem

I didn't have any luck with the 4 savefiles there. Three had dead characters, and the fourth, RANGER, was looking for a randart file, randart_0896a7f8.txt that wasn't in the archive.

It's okay, I realized you must have zipped it while the character was loaded in the game so the randart file had been moved to randart.txt.

It looks like Nick fixed this bug back in April 2020, https://github.com/angband/angband/c...3d2bc3bc408328 . Before the fix, the calculation of the number of pack slots used could be inconsistent with what had been assigned to the quiver elsewhere. The workaround when this happens would be to drop the stacks of ammunition that aren't in the quiver and then pick them up again.
