My dwarf blackguard just died on dungeon level 32. I'm not that great a player, but I had so much fun with the reversed mana playstyle. I know Blackguard is pretty new. Congrats to whoever designed the blackguard. The design encouraged me to be more aggressive than I've ever been, and I loved dishing out whirlwind attacks.
Blackguard is Fun!

Yeah, Blackguard is easily my favorite class. Wait until you get far enough to get Werewolf Form. You'll be chewing through enemies like a ravenous wolf. And in endgame, a Blackguard basically has infinite mana. It's a lot of fun.
The early game is rough, and the midgame is challenging as always, but once you get rolling, it's a glorious a bloodbath. -

Seeing this thread, I tried blackguard (HE) for the first time and yes, it is fun!
Start got lot easier thanks to this:
Dagger of *Slay Animal* (1d4) (+8,+7) <+2>
Found lying on the floor at 50 feet (level 1)
+2 intelligence
Slays animals
Grants telepathy (!!!)Comment

By this he means that blackguard's mana does not regenerate by waiting or moving around, but it decreases instead. Blackguard recovers mana via melee fighting.Comment
