I as able to post my character - I think Selkie may have jumped the gun by 1 hour. I'm posting this a 13.23 Prague time, about 23 minutes in.

I can see how it would be easy to misjudge the starting time.
I remember being surprised I was an hour late for the first 24 hour comp.Comment

Back to playing...
(probably poorly, since my brain is clearly not firing on all cylinders this early in the morning).Comment

It's possible. I tried to work out the timing but might have made an error. If I'm an hour early I'll apologise and stop playing an hour earlyComment

Hard to say! No guarantee anyone will actually win in 24 hours - maybe take your best shot
I'm definitely going to have a challenge to have enough time to finish a game. Assuming I don't die from stupidity (common occurrence).Comment

So I started 3 am german time yesterday, had an unexpected date which took several hours, and finished ~ 2 am next day. This probably shouldnt count ?
Anyway, apart from the interruption, it was a fun experience. My first @ died pretty early when I accidentally moved into a giant roc instead of teleporting it away. The second is the winner I posted. I played rather leisurely, not really optimizing turn count (for example, I actually visited shops instead of using ~). The most notable find was the last book on level 30ish - before I found arcane control - but it had little impact. I used banishment a couple times, but due to low hp I had to be very careful.
The bossfights were straightforward - I let Sauron get LOS once, thankfully he didnt use anything nasty.Comment

@estie congratulations on your winner. My HE mage died to a pack of blacklock sorcerers. I started diving hard to try to complete the challenge and paid the ultimate penalty.
How many hours in total so you think it took you to win? Angband can be such a slow, trawl at times that I think it's interesting to see how quick it can be playedComment

Thanks. When I made my previous post, I was dead tired and my brain mush - it hadnt occured to me that my first @ dying meant that the 2nd was started inside the time frame. So there is no early start, after all.
I didnt take the time I played, but I would guess maybe 8 hours ?Comment

8 hours? That's amazing! I thought I was going pretty fast (at least for me) when I won during comp 236 and I estimated it took me about 17 hours. For me, in real time, I'm sure that was the fastest I've ever played and won.Comment

There's also the endurance element. My brain got tired after around 8-9 hours of play and I got sloppy. Winning in 24 hours is a real challenge and anybody who manages it does really wellComment

Thanks everyone for the congratulations, here and on the ladder post.
