Any way to extend LoS on tiles?

Q: is there any way to extend the auto-aim feature (such as "h" or ' )when using tiles?
On tiles whenever something is outside of your screen, it cannot be targeted automatically. Tiles, although obviously superior and only animals use ASCII, are bigger and therefore your LoS only stretches so far, while instead when using the barbaric and degenerate ASCII, you can see much further.

is there any way to fool the game into thinking my screen is bigger than it is, or otherwise allowing auto-aim further than the edge of the screen?
I know the ] command works, so the game doesn't have any problem knowing what you can actually see.

You could always get a bigger monitor...

Set the target with the e'x'amine/'l'ook command. Then use the established target.

no see, that's is my point. The game CAN aim further than the edge of my monitor, but it won't.

Despite using tiles like a degenerate, you make a good point. Currently the targeting system restricts to the screen - and I'm not sure if it needs to.

IIRC, you can target off-screen if you go into target-a-square mode.

Correct, but it's handled by changing panel. So there are two things - panel-changing could be allowed for the fire-at-nearest command, or we could (possibly) just stop restricting to the current panel at all.

Yep, it's a problem using ASCII as well, but less frequently.
