    Protect my stuff

Which flag is used to determine whether your items are safe from the elements?

    Ignore_XXXX
    Res_XXXX
    IM_XXXX

Ignore would protect that one specific object, but IM would protect all your inventory from that element right? Or I could likely be out to lunch on that.

Ah, that's immunity. You usually wont find any until you are pretty deep. The IGNORE flag works for swap weapons, dungeon books, etc.

I found DSM at 4900 on my 20th trip or so. I don't think it has any IM_ properties though everyone seems to think it's the best armor in the game. It does appear to have a few goodies on it that i find useful. I still need to find some better Speed Rings.

In V immunity is vanishingly rare. I think Thorin has acid immunity. The elven rings each have one of the others. The One Ring has all four iirc. I think that's it.
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to bind them.
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness interrupt the movie.

There are several weapons with immunity. I wouldn't say it's vanishingly rare: if you get deep you are almost certain to find narya, and reasonably likely to find nenya and thorin. There are also several weapons with immunities that are individually rare but collectively are reasonably common.

Don't fight monsters that do this to you. Find more profitable ones.

Or stack temporary with permanent resist. (eg. potion of resist heat with shield of fire resistance) This will reduce damage to 1/9 instead of 1/3 and protect your inventory from damage.

I thought that only affected damage to you and that the roll for breaking inventory stuff was treated seperately.

Resistance and double resistance helps a bit with the large breaths, but there is a minimum chance that pack items are destroyed. If the damage is low enough that the minimum is in effect, further damage reduction makes no difference.

In some variants, immunity does not completely protect your pack.

Maybe it varies by variant. It's full inventory protection in ToME, which is the main variant I play, and I thought it was in V too.

I'm pretty sure it's not in variants with a full fractional resistance system. I'm not sure which all those are, though.
