Good, good. Don't shy away from the ladder.

    ...

Dying with unused tools is always sad. (Horn of terror, liquor)

Not taking disguise while investing in stealth is wasteful, imo.

If you play mainly as archer using that shield for 2 penalty to attack harms your damage output badly. A normal round shield would be much better.

As Feanor archer with early flaming arrows, weaponsmith for only 300xp is a pick you should not avoid. Even if only for the arrows at the first forge (30 turns for 72 arrows).

Specialise. (There are players around who can win with weird mixed ability chars, but I don't think your even split between archery and melee is benefitting you much.)

Charge is 1 way for an archer to deal with annoying stone creatures appearing later in the game but when you're not reaching them anyway 5 melee (1500) is enough to pay for dodging & sprinting which are pretty handy on an archer. Otherwise pretty much what taptap is saying.

Strongly recommend flanking+sprinting and a melee character. You are much less likely to get backed in a corner like that. And get your melee and evasion up early. If you are focusing on archery, get flaming arrows (and make a keymap to toggle the skill.) They do 1.5x more damage with a 2d bow against almost all enemies.

Note: Werewolves are very bad news. So are whispering shadows. Getting stuck between them like that is guaranteed death. Listen skill helps with things like this. Also , be completely OCD about the way you explore the dungeon. Get to an edge, then explore left-to-right or vice versa. Try not to let monsters get around behind you.

And if you do just want to post a dump here, putting code tags around it (the # above the message box) makes it more readable (I've done that for your post).
