    Advice before entering 1000ft

    Hi all,

    I was never in the throne room. But now I'm close.
    I'm wondering what equipment, skills, etc. to get to be sufficiently prepared.

    I plan to get CON from the will tree and perhaps crit resistance before.
    Also I assume I will need song of slaying and perhaps song of sharpness too?
    I never sung before

    Right now I can deal with stuff at 900ft ok. Something dark that hits hard is the only thing giving me problems.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Depends on whether the goal is killing V or not. I'd be wanting momentum or rapid attack to make the most of strength potions. You will probably want a little more will or another source of FA to counteract Morgoth's bad voice.

      I got momentum along with charge with 3 STR and Orcrist (3lbs).
      I will get more Will in order to get the CON point. So it'll be about 14 Will effectively.
      What is FA?

        FA is free action. I'm surprised you are using Orcrist. But, hey, if it's working it's working! There are many trolls at the start of the throne room, so that is something. I normally look for a good 3dx weapon if I'm weapon/shielding in endgame, but maybe your to-hit is high enough to get criticals to offset. I'm not so good with numbers, but just from experience, Orcrist always felt a bit like a butterknife once 600' hit.

          Free action, alright, i have that on my greaves.

          yes, orcrist isnt great, but i'm crit-ing okish. It's weight fits my strength (3) optimally and i have finesse.

            Slaying is, for my money, the most broken song. Slaying at merely bonus 12, or so, is ridiculous. It could just simply be a combination though... the throne room is flooded with monsters, so you can quickly ramp up a slaying bonus to insane heights.

              i think that psi meant you should have two sources of free action. it provides resistance - but not immunity - to slowness and entrancement. a second one would give you enough for the throne room.

                From memory I think you want the equivalent of 25 will, each FA source is +10 against the effect.

                    I think 25 works until the crown is knocked off, at which point you need 28 for immunity.
