I had read it inattentively - thanks for pointing it out

I have seen similar ones, like

      Code:
      bridge
      ------
      etswra
      [SPOILER]
      Bridge over troubled waters
      [/SPOILER]
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Actually wouldn't mind seeing Smithing go altogether to be honest. It's nowhere near as elegantly designed as the rest of the game, plays awkwardly with the turncount and random item find mechanics, and braving Angband doesn't make much sense for a craftsman to begin with.

Sil was designed from the ground up for Smithing to be ignorable if a player chooses to ignore it. It seems bizarre that its very existence could be offensive. I believe it adds a lot to the game, personally, though I also know it's opaque.
