    Sil - taken alive

There should be circumstances in which, if you lose a fight, you are taken prisoner. You reappear, wounded and with key equipment missing,
    • in a locked room
    • in a pit with a werewolf
    • slaving at a forge
    • being interrogated by Sauron, or
    • taken before Morgoth himself.

Perhaps if you die at 0 hp with no status effects you are taken prisoner, and yes, with either an orc, wolf, cat, rauko, whatever guard depending on where you are. That could be fun.

Didn't the old roguelike Mission Thunderbolt do something like this? If a robot caught you you could be taken to a room where you were strapped to a chair, and you had to squirm, break the chair against walls/things and figure out how to escape.

Perhaps, a Potion of Booze *should* cause this to happen 1 in 10 times. Z+Angband (and probably Zangband) had something like this...Potions of Booze can cause players to randomly teleport and *wake up* confused/hallucinating. If this booze + *wake up confused* consequence gets implemented into Sil, this would have very interesting gameplay effects!

If I'm offline I'm probably in the middle of maintaining Gentoo or something-Linux or other.

You drink a potion of booze. You have 2 potions of booze (c) left.
You drink a potion of booze. You have 1 potion of booze (c) left.
You drink a potion of booze. You have 0 potions of booze (c) left.
          You feel dizzy.
You wake up hungover and next to a Succubus. It hits! (x5)

That might be an interesting mechanic in some games, but Sil's aesthetic draws a lot from simplicity, rather than being stuffed full of interesting interactions like Nethack. I think it would be very out of place.

Not too sure about the booze thing.

This prisom thing might only happen if you had the right ability ('Survive Capture"?). Deliberately being captured might even be a part of a speedrun technique...

Remember all the prison cells in Sil. This is already implemented as "elf/dwarf/human skeleton".

You awake chained to a high peak of Thangorodrim. The game presents you with a deeply depressing ascii graphic of you crying on the rock face, doomed to suffer for as long as Morgoth wishes to keep you alive.

                  Congratulations! You have been captured.
                  You are on something strange

Also, all descendant playthroughs using that savefile file are now cursed.

The good news is that if you cut off your right hand, you'll escape and learn to type better with your left. Solution may require an eagle.
