Gwarl, you may want to implement PosChengband 7.0.0 onto the webserver asap! Maybe do this with the 6.x version available at the same time so people can transition to the new 7.0.0 version
My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on Angband.live:

If I'm offline I'm probably in the middle of maintaining Gentoo or something-Linux or other.

So, when playing with subwindows, if the item one examines has more text than the main window size, you can't see all the information nor scroll to see it. One must exit, switch to no subwindows (well, 1 subwindow on angband.live) in order to examine the item fully.
“We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

Hugo: yes! There are a couple of things that make the upgrade less than straightforward however. I've just started a new job and haven't had much time to work on the website but I'm planning to examine the 7.0.0 situation over the weekend.

Ingwe: unfortunately this is by no means an easy fix. Angband's GCU port is known to be somewhat problematic, which is why t4nk wrote textui2 for it. Unfortunately he's not around to work on it and my experience with C involves copy/pasting and flipping booleans.

Actually the problem with poschengband 7.0.0 saving games was easily fixed and wasn't caused by any code changes. There may yet be problems with scorefiles.

Giving up on the server for now; ive been playing for 2 days and there are constant issues, mostly due to the fact that the game doesnt recognize my keyboard layout and i have to constantly change it back and forth to make macros or inscriptions (in the chat window, my layout works perfectly).

Gwarl is doing a great job and it has become much better over time, but it is not at a point where I can play without constant unexpected surprises yet. Maybe someone more savvy with computers can; I cannot.

Another suggestion - chat timestamps (date & time), please. Thanks!

The last time I checked (yesterday, 8/16), it showed only the time of day. The timestamps really should include the date as well.

Do you really need day, month and a year there?

Yes, this is how the chat should appear:

Why not use ISO 8601 at this point?

IMO just output the number of seconds that have passed since January 1st 1970 GMT.

Just be sure to use a 32-bit type, or it will overflow in 21 years.

Yes, timestamps should include the date in the format clouded had shown for bookkeeping sakes (what was said and when -- very helpful for us all, imo)
