    ...nevermind. (Delete me please?)

I can't locate the sources for ZAngband 2.4.0 (r5 specifically) anywhere. Can anyone assist? Z has been defunct for quite a while but I'm leaning toward using it as a base rather than vanilla--or at least referencing how they set up some of the spells and abilities.

Any advice is much appreciated; my Google-fu is turning up dust.

EDIT: Ugh, nevermind. Complain & Solve worked again--I found the sources through SourceForge. :P

(If someone could tell me how to delete a thread, though, that'd be useful. Didn't see an option for it...)

I'd rather point out that the source for many versions of Zangband, and indeed other variants, can be found at the Angband Variant repository. We hope you enjoy the experience.

I am! I'm also learning at an exponential rate; just got z to compile. Had to modify main-win.c but it's humming now. W00t.

I'm probably going to try to patch vanilla with z rather than the other way around, given vanilla's strong support...but I'm not sure yet.

I expect it will be daunting either way. The main things I want to change that can't be pref'd in are to simplify the interface (a common 'use' command) so noobs can play more easily, reduce the options, add new spells, change the classes up, incorporate a pre-set extended wilderness, and put in a 'mode' thing where you can't attack people in safe areas (you talk to them instead). Most of the rest of it can be pref'd or added via new graphics, which I'm looking to commission.
