Maybe. If you don't still have a copy from when your WIS was less that 18/100, probably not.

Probably not then. Also, my quirky linux distro (termux for Android running on a chromebook) is unable to install zip right now. I guess I'll wait to see if the stat gain issue ever happens again and post a save file then. I appreciate the offer to look it over though!

Congrats to Ingwe for beating bron's turncount at the last minute, relegating last competition's winner to second place.

A well deserved win; congrats to Ingwe. Although his char was super powerful right at the end, he was clearly taking insane risks around DL 60, and it took enormous skill to bring it all the way to the win.

Literally - quaff potion, no stat gain, no message indicating "you feel more XXX now". Just the message "You see no more potions of gain Wisdom". I was wondering if this was a bug, or if it is actually possible in the current game dynamics.
This happens to me all the time, in both older versions and 4.2.0. My understanding is that once you reach 18/XX the amount a stat potion increases is very variable. Every /10 increase equals an effective +1 to the stat. If it's less than 10 then you'll get no noticeable effect from the stat gain. For example, if you are at 18/20 wisdom, and you quaff a potion of wisdom you might only go to 18/27 wisdom. Stat gain is only registered every /10 increase. Conversely, sometimes a single stat potion will effectively give you +2 stat increase. Example: you are at 18/27 Wisdom and a single wisdom potion takes you to 18/42. Pay attention to that number the next time you quaff a stat gain potion. It's variable and often will not boost your stat enough for @ to perceive a noticeable effect.

Note that when your stats are below 18/XX then stat gain from potions is not variable, it merely increases by 1 every time.

To clarify: If your starting wisdom is 16 and you quaffed 6 wisdom potions in a row here is what might happen:

            Wis: 16
            Wis: 17
            Wis: 18
            Wis: 18/10
            Wis: 18/17
            Wis: 18/30

/10 = 1 stat gain, so 18/17 isn't enough to equal an additional stat gain from 18/10 (but 18/20 would have), but 18/30 is effectively +2 over 18/17.

Stat gain behavior is a little confusing, but the variability kinda makes it interesting.

For an example of what I'm talking about:

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

Note how the numbers increase in a random number each time I quaff one of those potions of wisdom.
