OK, stupid question time...

I ended up with a sack full of un-ID'd {good} weapons. Is there a way to ID them, short of paying 250 each time in the town? I didn't find a staff of ID in the dungeon or town and ID by use doesn't seem to exist. I ended up just using the best dice weapon without knowing the modifiers to hit and dam. Is that the right way to go about it? Many thanks.

Don't bother IDing a 'good' weapon, wait for an 'excellent' one (which you may well be able to use-id)
