Competition 135

In late celebration of the release of 'The Hobbit' movie, competition 135 is now available from the competition page; it is an Angband 3.4.1 Hobbit Rogue.

Note that comp 134 still has a few hours to go.

Throwing stones was the main thing Bilbo was good at. And eating.

Not sure the competition page is ranking the results so far properly... shouldn't it be by max xp / standard turns?

You were right, it was sorting on XP/game turns - pav has now fixed it.

The process for setting up the scoring goes like this:

1. I come up with a ranking scheme, based on values readable from the character dump;
2. I let pav know the scheme, by email;
3. pav writes some code to read the relevant values and calculate the rankings.

So if I forget to email, or set up impossible conditions, or explain badly or wrong, or pav misunderstands, or doesn't get to his email, or miscodes, then things go wrong. All this is being done across many different variants, so we're both inclined to make assumptions about the character dump which turn out to be wrong. And even if we get everything technically right, my instructions on the competition page may be confusing or wrong.

Competition 135 is now finished - congrats to PowerWyrm for getting the only game win. The ladder is currently ordering PowerWyrm as third (which he is based on XP/turns), but I have asked pav to amend that.
