Finally grinded down Morgoth with mana storms. It was a dance with 50 in speed and no other uniques than Boldor and Polyphemos.

OK, competition 111 is finished; congratulations to Roch for winning, and to ewan, bulian and bron for game winners.

The real story, though, is that ShadowTechnology had an outstanding game win in way less turns than anyone else, and with a level 43 character, but was only halfway through the final battle when the deadline expired. Moreover, artes and ewan (again) both had promising characters which they ran out of time to finish.

So all in all a great competition, and congratulations to everyone involved.

I'll second that. There is seriously good play happening -- ShadowTechnology took down Sauron at clevel 42, and Ewan is trying to finish with a ridiculously low turncount.

I'm giving up when on top, after killing Saruman. This was an exciting adventure.

Agreed! I'm expecting at least one of the three challengers to finish, but it looks like its going to go right down to the wire. Fun!

OK, my bad again. I don't know why the savefile I started with had a positive movement delay; for normal play, set that to 0.

I had the same problem. (On Win 7 and Ubuntu 11.04).

What worked for me on both systems, was setting the movement delay to 0. (was set to 2).

Yes, I get the same diagonal move if I press up and then left. It's pretty close to unplayable this way, so no laptop games for me.

I've this too. But when i press [up] [left] i move diagonal. So my theory about this is that the game checks if you have a Numpad or not (I lack one) and this way I can use my arrow-key as numpad. But it does slow down the game.
