Competition 98 is now at the competition page; it is a RePosBand 0.6.3 Lich. Thanks to Sirridan for the savefile.

Note that comp 97 still has a few days to run.

As Gorbad pointed out on his dump, this is apparently an Ironman (Ironlich) competition.

Whoo, sweet. Note to players (that probably should be in the documentation): press 'U' to use powers, or 'p' if you're using rogue keys. The repeat command function doesn't work with them so you'll probably want to set up a macro or two.

I'm trying to work out how best to play this character. Your melee stats are terrible, but that Ring of Freezing will let you melee things anyway, at least for awhile. A 6d4 hit from a mace really puts the hurt on through 600' or so. Hitting things can be a problem unless you have plenty of Heroism/Bless/Berserk handy, but this is ironman so that's a crapshoot. Magic missile and CLW make decent utility spells (and Confuse Monster is good vs. orcs) but the others seem to be of somewhat limited use. I've been selling the Staff of Power in exchange for lots of healing potions and some ID; maybe I should be grabbing a crossbow/longbow instead.

This is an ironman game, so you can only go down stairs. I hope that's what you meant

Shame on me if this was common knowledge, but it seems like the quiver functionality is broken. I can equip arrows into the quiver, but then they don't show up in the equipment, and there is no way to shoot or drop them.

Now, I'm stuck with a bunch of dead weight. Oh well!

You can still access items in the quiver, to shoot or drop, by pressing the appropriate letter, that is the letter that is 2 more than your last equipment slot, usually n, and opqrst if you've more than one item in the quiver.
