Transformers became cool the moment Optimus Prime appeared in Family Guy (which happened to inspire the production of the movie and launch the career of wotsername etc. etc.).

How do I eat since regular food does not help me? Someone mentioned biting monsters, how do I do that?

Get adjacent to a living monster (not golem/undead/elemental) and press "U" and then choose the "Drain Life" ability.

Open mouth. Insert monster. Close mouth.

I know that there's a better one-liner here, I just can't come up with it. Sorry.

So I just went into the Angband dungeon, got down to about dlvl 12ish and then recalled and it sent me to the Wilderness outside and not to a town....

edit: Another Entro question: is it possible to finish quests before I even have the quest? I just killed Nar the Dwarf and it said my quest was complete but I didn't have that quest. Can I not turn this in until I actually get the quest later? How do I know where to turn these in?

That's expected - in Entro (like in ToME) recall takes you back to the last place you were on the surface: in this case, the wilderness outside Angband dungeon. If you recall from the town into the dungeon when you recall out of the dungeon you will go back to the town.

These are random quests that occur automatically every couple of levels (12?) in the Angband dungeon only - sort of like the princess quests in ToME. You win by defeating the unique guarding the level, and the only reward (aside from whatever said unique drops) is the generation of the down-stairs allowing you to continue. I think you can fail these quests by leaving the level but I don't know what happens in that case.

Okay another question. How do I see my skill level with things like Dual-Wielding? I put on a short sword in my offhand miss a ton and want to see how far I have to go...

Second page -> [x] proficiencies or something. The indicator is lousy, though (want to know the numeric value, duh!).
If you can convincingly pretend you're crazy, you probably are.

So these weapon skills I have, can I raise any of them by using the weapon for a while even if I'm "unskilled" and miss all the time? Or do my proficiencies auto change as I level (or never change)?

Yes, you can raise skills, but most weapons the max skill will be 4000, which is not that great compared to weapons a ninja favors. Rapiers -- yeah, useful to max those even though you can't cap them at 8000, there are some good artifact ones. Claymores? Forget about it.

Skills like dual wield are also easier to increase if you're a higher level. But you need to use the skill to raise it.

I'd have to check the source, but IIRC, your weapon skills and dual wield skill are reflected in your chardump's to-hit.

For skilling dual wield, you need to hit a monster that has a certain level while wielding two weapons.. It was like level (skill - 1000) / 200 or something. That means you need at least level 15 monsters in the beginning, and level 35+ monsters are the only way to max the skill.

Then I'm probably just going to stay 1-handed until higher levels and then train it retroactively.
