Second page -> [x] proficiencies or something. The indicator is lousy, though (want to know the numeric value, duh!).

Okay another question. How do I see my skill level with things like Dual-Wielding? I put on a short sword in my offhand miss a ton and want to see how far I have to go...

These are random quests that occur automatically every couple of levels (12?) in the Angband dungeon only - sort of like the princess quests in ToME. You win by defeating the unique guarding the level, and the only reward (aside from whatever said unique drops) is the generation of the down-stairs allowing you to continue. I think you can fail these quests by leaving the level but I don't know what happens in that case.

That's expected - in Entro (like in ToME) recall takes you back to the last place you were on the surface: in this case, the wilderness outside Angband dungeon. If you recall from the town into the dungeon when you recall out of the dungeon you will go back to the town.

So I just went into the Angband dungeon, got down to about dlvl 12ish and then recalled and it sent me to the Wilderness outside and not to a town....

Open mouth. Insert monster. Close mouth.

I know that there's a better one-liner here, I just can't come up with it. Sorry.

Get adjacent to a living monster (not golem/undead/elemental) and press "U" and then choose the "Drain Life" ability.

Transformers became cool the moment Optimus Prime appeared in Family Guy (which happened to inspire the production of the movie and launch the career of wotsername etc. etc.).

Or for that matter an alien monkey?

    This fellow managed it.
