    luckiest game of V since ever

    im talking luckier that when Maggot dropped Wrath Of God, or when Boldor dropped Trident Of Wrath.

    start: CL1, ranger; i see the weaponsmith has a longbow, i sell everything and buy it. i go in the dungeon without a weapon (sold my dagger) i find a dagger (+5,+5).
    CL2: in town i use the dagger + longbow to kill maggot: drops a longbow of accuracy (+17,+4 only - oh well).
    CL5: i keep getting 9/10/11 hp per die roll. i read a couple of DD and come back with some sellable stuff. The weaponsmith has a Longbow of EXTRA SHOTS <+1>. ok.

    first orc uniques, i get Black DSM and i wipe them out.

    DL21: a ring of power sitting in a demi-vault.
    DL29: 9-9 level. getting ready to leave, it turns out it's just a low-level graveyard, and i get a DSM of Balance.
    DL32: second Ring Of Power (+ESP)

    it's been a game of "oh look i'm out of THIS THING" and next room i walk into has THE THING or even an upgrade to THE THING lying on the floor.

    by the way; how do i do a file dump while still alive?

    Almost as lucky as the way back when in the Ben Harrison days, when I found The One Ring buried in a pile of rubble on DL 15 or so.

    You can do a file dump from the Character Information Screen.

      i get that, but it's not a case of one stroke of luck, it's a constant stream of luck. think "oh no that dragon is too strong for me, but it's guarding something i want".
      10 seconds later - 30 arrows of slay dragon (+10,+10)

          Never happened something like this to me in several months of playing. When i tp i always end on a nasty vault instead.

              weird randart set where everything was trying to give me rPois rChaos rNeth

              the longbow of extra shots was fundamental, i enchanted it to +10,+10 and was way over the average ranger damage for my CL and DL. The DSM of breathe shards was also very useful. Two rings of power by DL30 .. is uncommon, but i feel the RoPs are far, far more common these days.

              Eventually i discovered i was running around without rDis and i realized what a bad idea that is, so i changed set around a bit, and had to do with 18/180 CON, taking a big hit to my maxHP.

              Once far down below DL90 i found a shortbow of lothlorien 4X +21,+26 (!!) and dropped my faithful bow of shots. Also, a nice stack of 34 seeker arrows of Holy Might, that has got to be MAYBE the fourth time i find them. I found nearly as many of The One Ring than stacks of HM.

              Oh and a PDSM. practically garbage.

                My luckiest early drop ever was this one last week. I consider my druid win almost as a cheat. I don't think I've ever found an artifact on dlvl2 floor (If I don't count Phials found in 1990's Angband). Plain (+0,+0) Iron Shots averaged about 120 dmg on anything that had no rCold.
                This sob also found a chaos dragon scale mail at dlvl9 further breaking the game in pieces.

                b) the Sling of Narama (x3) (+10,+18) <+2, +3, +1>
                Found lying on the floor at 100 feet (level 2)

                +2 constitution.
                +3 infravision.
                +1 shooting power.
                +1 light.
                Branded with cold.

                  i just had some Leather Boots of Elvenkind .. <+4,+9> dropped by Ibun, on DL25.

                  +4 Stealth +9 speed is values you rarely see even on DL98, to give you an idea of how lucky this is.
