Well it's been about 5 years since my wife and I last played and we are having to relearn everything....question 1) How do I find the entire list of uniques?? When last we played the game showed all the uniques for the game whether they were alive or not...now all it shows is if they are dead...question 2) why is the artifcat list blacked out?? And question three, I actually forgot to ask this on my previous post...why did the powers that be take away the option to sell stuff in the General Store???

1. There is a "Monster Memory", which saves every data you learn about monsters. If you hit a monster with a poison branded weapon, and it resists, the monster memory stores "It resists poison." for the given monster.
There's a list of all uniques you have ever encountered using that savefile, including wether you already killed them this game or not.
To see the list, you need to load a savefile from a dead character.
2. Artifacts are greyed out, because you don't know any ^.^ As far as I know, Artifact Memory isn't stored like monster memory (thus is lost when you die). Kinda pointless...
3. It doesn't make any real difference, anyways. If you can convincingly pretend you're crazy, you probably are. -
Yeah, that is a flaw. It works well, though, because it makes people actually use torches for a while, then upgrade to a lantern when they find one. Otherwise torches were entirely useless for most people the entire game.takkaria whispers something about options. -more-Comment

Any change that ruins the old game strategy
1. Go to General Store
2. Buy lantern
3. Kill Morgoth
is a tragic mistake.Comment

I think you should be able to throw a torch down a hallway and nearby creatures would follow it for a few turns. Would let you get away or sneak into an otherwise guarded area.A(3.1.0b) CWS "Fyren_V" NEW L:50 DL:127 A++ R+++ Sp+ w:The Great Axe of Eonwe

Even being able to drop them behind you as you walk down dark corridors would be cool. Can't see that one in upcoming V though!Comment

Don't ditch the new torches! Torches of Brightness are _much_ more common than lanterns of brightness. The extra light radius more than makes up for the inconvenience of refilling them often. (It's not much of an inconvenience. I usually don't spend more than 9000 turns in the dungeon. That's one initial fill and one later fill from a 4999-turn torch.)
The Phial is of course better, but I rarely find it before ~1700'.Comment
