Competition char

This has been my best char since i started playing. Also my deepest. I found a lot of monsters that i have never seen before.

I had just beaten the Xaren when a four headed hydra showed up. I used my last charge on my _telport and landed in a room full of trolls. Before i could do anything, a seven headed hydra that was off the screen breathed...

I dont think i could have survived that even if i was at full life. I really need to find rPoison before i get that deep. Any advice for my next char?

I know i have a week to go for the comp. but i dont think i'll have the time to play.

Assuming this matches the char dump you posted, your mistake might have been using telSelf when you had telOther. If you had sent the hydra away, you would not have landed in the frying pan.

your right, i could have sent the hydra away and then rested or quaffed a potion. I kinda panicked, i was thinking "i have around 100 hitpoints, i got to get out of here". I never thought about any other options...

That is one of the most wonderous things about angband - getting panicked in a turn based game. It happens to me all the time without any real reason because you have all the time of the world to think about your next move.

There is also a rule about angband, that after the death of your character you will always find something in your equipment or inventory that could have helped to avoid death.

I swear this is true 99% of the time. It's scary.
