Hello.
I just got YAW, but with a twist. Played Half-orc warrior, and while I had no problems whatsoever killing Vecna, Gothmog, Huan, Carcharoth, Tarrasque etc. high-level uniques, Gabriel almost killed me five times. I once even took my entire supply of healing potions with me to hunt him down and I needed to use almost all of them before giving up. I needed then to resupply my stock of potions. I finally killed him with gear of Aule, Nenya, Haradrim, Gondor +32 speed and near 100 points of damage / hit against angels and a lot of CCW.
That one was harder to kill than Morgoth (though when I finally got to M, I was obviously much better prepared). I don't recall ever having this much difficulty killing Gabriel. Carcharoth was the only one that came even close in difficulty because of Nether breath (Sauron is a joke with Aule).
Has something been done to him? Or did he just chose to use the most damaging possible methods against me every single time I met him?
