The best drop I've ever seen

Ar-Pharazon at dlvl 87 (character dump). DROP_GREAT uniques usually disappoint me (except maybe Mim which always delivers great loot for his native depth), but this was a notable exception: 3 great artifacts and Mordenkainen's.
    Code:
The Mithril Chain Mail 'Elemnor' (-1) [28,+14] (+4)
         +4 strength, dexterity, constitution, speed.
         Provides resistance to light, nether.
Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.
         Prevents paralysis. Grants telepathy.
    Code:
The Set of Mithril Gauntlets 'Falegonwe' [5,+19] (+1)
         +1 dexterity.
         Provides immunity to cold.
Provides resistance to fire, fear, confusion.
Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.
         Sustains charisma.
    Code:
    The Trident 'Antar' (1d10) (+12,+14) [+28] (+2)
         +2 intelligence, wisdom, constitution.
         +10% to searching.
         Slays evil creatures, undead, orcs.
Branded with acid, lightning, flames, frost, venom.
         Provides resistance to confusion.
Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.
Blessed by the gods. Prevents paralysis.

Oh, so you think they're governed by the same RNG? Where can I get the latest snapshot of the Project Universe sources and do development team accept patches?

God I hope Real Life and Angband don't have the same RNG.

Especially since I don't have any +speed or ESP.

If real life and Angband used the same RNG, we'd be seeing a lot more karmic justice and punishment for hubris.

            ALL Brands in one weapon???

Too bad this isn't big dice weapon. Getting some randart like Pain with brands would be even better. But that wasn't bad one.

Makes me wonder... How about randart bow with all brands? Kill slays? Possible?

The dice are taken into account. The code knows that 1d10 with all brands is less valuable than 3d10.

Fairly recently, I wrote about a randart SoS my wife found with all 3 kill slays. http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=3164

All five brands is actually less rare than it should be - I need to add an extra power term beyond the simple damage calculation, because that actually *decreases* the value of extra brands (because it only measures the monsters that the extra brand uniquely affects).

Yes, it is theoretically possible to generate a randart bow with +3 to might and shots and +39 to_dam with all five brands and all SLAY_ and KILL_ flags too. Similarly it is possible to generate a 9d10 trident with +39 to_dam and all the same flags. The chances of either are fantastically small - I think Eddie's wife's SoS is the closest I've yet seen.

Even if it had only +3 might and brand acid and brand elec with +30 or so to_dam it would beat any and every melee-weapon in hands of Ranger. That's 6*3 (base damage+bow bonus) = minimum 540 points of damage with unenchanted normal arrows per hit against pretty nearly everything. From distance. Add a bit enchanted seeker ammo and critical hit and you can see something like Smaug dead with single arrow.

Having both shots and might would make it even more insane. That one needs to be tuned down.

My 31 mage just found this. I am now a warrior mage (with not enough CON).

                      Code:
                      The Katana 'Agonimron' (6d5) (+14,+12) [+9] (+3)
                           +3 strength, attack speed.
                           Slays animals, orcs.
                           *Slays* dragons.
                           Branded with venom.
                           Provides resistance to lightning, dark.
Cannot be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, cold.
Prevents paralysis. Grants the ability to see invisible things.

                           Combat info:
                           7 blows/round.
Average damage/hit: 61.5 vs. animals, 80.7 vs. orcs, 80.7 vs.
creatures not resistant to poison, 119.2 vs. dragons, and 42.2 vs.
                           others.
