    Help! Nervous...

I hear some say that if you aren't nervous, you aren't deep enough. Well I'm rather deep, and I'm rather nervous.

65th floor with no rpoison, I have esp as a swap and a semi-decent bow, but it's punch is dropping with every floor down.

I get detection from my helm, and I have a few scrolls to help keep me alive, but overall, scared outa my mind.

Should I dive deeper and hope for speed rings or try and gain a few levels? I can't wait for 30 to get intrinsic rfear, it gets annoying having to flee 'cause I can't fight.

Thanks in advance for any advice! Hopefully I won't explode due to something stupid again. Maybe being scared is good, I don't stop paying attention which seems to be fatal to me all the time.

    Dump below:

The general advice you'll get from this community:

    1) If you're at dlvl 65, you might as well be at dlvl 98. Same amount of danger but much better loot and more vaults (if you have TO).

    2) Watch out for Drolems since they don't show up on ESP and can 1-shot you with poison breath from the darkness. (There are a few others to watch for, but I don't remember the ones that don't show on ESP.)

That's crazy, but probably still survivable given your stealth. With just +2 speed, and your missing resists, there a probably a whole bunch of things that can finish you off in a single turn. If you're having fun, keep on going. If just staying alive has become tedious, then it might be time to start looking for up staircases. I'm assuming dis-connected stairs. Dis-connected stairs?

I'd say your biggest problem right now is low HP. Get that CON up. 18/50 is crazy low.

Should I dive deeper and hope for speed rings or try and gain a few levels? I can't wait for 30 to get intrinsic rfear, it gets annoying having to flee 'cause I can't fight.
You should be buying every !hero for sale at the temple, and use one any time you get scared and can't simply kill your foe with your bow.

You've gotten too deep to worry about what you have. Keep going down, or else start over from DL 1. You won't survive trying to get to easier levels using upstairs.

You appear to be diving a bit too fast. My current warrior reached CL 30 at DL 52, and I am a certified madman. Oh - you are playing a high-elf which costs a couple CLs, so maybe it's the same ballpark.

You probably need to pick a few more fights, but it takes time to learn which are worth the effort. It is worthwhile to try collect a few wands of ball damage and then use them all up to try to soften up one high value target so you can kill it. Ideally aim from a turn in a corridor so if it breathes you can step out of LOS before you quaff or try to escape.

Yeah, I hit dl 77, found another TO which is a blessing. CL 32 now with a *much* better launcher so things die again, I want some more health and speed, but I can pick off non blue/red dragons pretty easy, although I still stay away from greens and MHs. I'm basically looking for stat potions and rpoison right now, my other characters were pushing 800hp way earlier because I was always lucky finding lots of !con and armor, this guy just hasn't been lucky.

Thanks though for your and everyone else's input.

Tag teamed by two vampire lords because I got greedy. Got slowed and they surrounded me and before I could act they burned off 409 hp (-8 from 401).

Dived too fast. Next char will probably be a ranger and ill stick around dl 30-40 till I have a decentish kit with max con.

Had a blast though, I don't care that I died since I wasn't to well off. I am however still ticked about my last warrior who had all resists covered except chaos, and I could equip switch in disenchant if I needed. No more dumps or advice till I win, so probably won't see any for a while ;-)

Half-Trolls are fun for CON. I just made a Half-Troll priest and he was a beast in melee, but still had infinite heals and 0% fail. Won with him
