    Here's my latest attempt, could use some advice though.

    Ok. This is by far turnig out to be one of my better attempts recently. Have played moria forever untill recently when i discovered Ang. Loving it so far.

    Current char. has made it farther than most of my other attempts so far, I don't want to die because of stupidity so any advice would be great.

    I'll agree with what the other people said on the ladder posting: go down to the stat gain levels; say, 30 to 33. It isn't significantly more dangerous than dlvl 26, and you really want the stat potions. Anglarang is a good weapon; you should just sell the other two swords you're carrying. Buy stat gain potions in the Black Market (except maybe Wisdom and Charisma). Yes they are expensive, but after this point you probably aren't going to be spending your gold on anything else expensive. Buy a dozen (or more) Phase Door scrolls. "Shoot 'n Scoot" is a powerful technique (especially for a Ranger) and you shouldn't waste your SP on the spell (not to mention the chance of failure). Buy some enchanted arrows. Each additional +1 on the arrow will do +4 damage with your bow, so even something modest like +5 would increase your damage output by 30%. If you need to buy the scrolls and enchant them yourself, do it on a stack of 19 arrows (or less); there is an increased chance of failure for each group of 20. Pete Mack's list of monsters to avoid is good advice; I'd add Gravity Hounds to the list. You don't want to go below level 40 before you get Resist Poison; resist poison rings can be found on level 40 itself. At dlvl 42 (? I think?) the Drolems and Ancient Multi-Hued Dragons start to appear and they can insta-kill you with poison breath. (Admittedly, players like PowerDiver would disagree with that last bit of advice, but you seem to be slow-playing this character, and that is the safer route.)

              You can edit your post, rather than posting again, and your ladder dump shows you are still of the living. Don't forget to post those RIP dumps.

                @ZenDragon:
                Caspannion might have helped against a basilisk.
                @Buzzkill:
                What happened 1/19/2010? Was it that Obama put forward a spending freeze on a small fraction of the federal budget? With the (Republican-style) medicare and military budgets untouched, it's not going to make much difference

                        To provide a rather less biased summary:

                        Massachusetts elected a new senator (after the old one's term expired) and got a Republican in a state that has historically leaned Democrat. Said Republican's platform was basically entirely anti-Obama. By getting elected, he's shifted the balance in the Senate from 59 Democrats, Joe Lieberman, and 40 Republicans to 58 Democrats, Joe Lieberman, and 41 Republicans. Importantly, 41 Republicans voting along party lines are enough to prevent the Democrats from overriding filibuster attempts (assuming they get Lieberman's vote), since you need 60 votes to do that. The Republicans have been attempting filibusters on every remotely significant bill in the past two months.

                        And now, back to Angband.

                            It was mentioned earlier in the thread that one could update a character dump... how is this done? Just upload a file of the same name? Or is there some function on the website I've not seen yet?
