[O] Why not to play Shadow Fairy Necromancers

So my latest was character level 22, 85 HP. Incautiously lit a room with nine gnome mages in it. They all woke up. One blinked, seven cast stinking clouds at me. The ninth didn't get to move, or at least I was dead and so didn't see it.

The problem I have is that I've decided this is the combination I want to play. If I play anything else now, it will feel like giving up. And yet, after 54 attempts, I'm starting to doubt whether I will ever actually win.

Remember the Kobayashi-Maru scenario, and the solution of one, James Tiberius Kirk.

An interesting read, though I'm sure Nick would rather plough on that resort to that!

Sounds like a competition character to me.

Difference being that that was an in principle impossible situation. This is just serial incompetence.

As for making this a comp character - so long as I draw breath that will not happen. It would be just too demoralising.

I think more demoralizing would be the fact that there's at least one person on this forums that would WIN.
If you can convincingly pretend you're crazy, you probably are.
