You know how you occasionally get an ego item or randart that adds to your To Hit and/or Dam values?

In the game I died in last night, my character was equipped with an artifact (I can't remember if it was cloak or gauntlets) that gave +19/+20 to my attacks.

I've never seen values that high!

If you were actually getting 20+ blows per round, that's a bug, and a big one.

I suspect he means gauntlets [] (+19,+20). This kind of value is super rare but not unheard of - I have seen them in other people's dumps, but cant remember finding anything like that (in new vanilla).

The character was killed by me being too aggressive on level 98 while trawling for consumables before the final battle, and I started a new character, so I don't have a character dumped.

it wasn't any extra blows, it was massive additions to To Hit and Damage.

I'm used to ridiculous +X/+Y weapons in the new versions of Angband but I don't ever remember seeing +X/+Y modifiers in other randarts that were higher than 10 or so before, even in the new versions. So it was quite a shock to me.
