
My policy is basically that things that are clearly out of theme (angels) or chronology (Ar-Pharazon) are out. But for FA I'm not going to completely gut all the game mechanics. Rings are an interesting case, because the idea of forging them imbued with powers is clearly a Second Age thing, but the general idea of gems with powers is not as precise - notably Tolkien went back and forth on whether the Elessar was First or Second Age. I've taken the easy route of allowing jewellery items with powers, and given that, I've allowed them to fill basically the same niche as they do in Vanilla. So Rings of Power are more just the most powerful rings you can find than the 9, 7, 3 and 1 from the verse.
Deadliness. The +n% in Melee is a clue, but then there is Shoot to-dam which I should change.
