Most disappointing High-Feeling level

After thoroughly clearing out a 4-8 400' level, your priest determines that it must be one of these three unidentified scrolls you've found giving you this feeling (which is disappointing already)

#1 - Magic Mapping - this is a little out of depth - but not so much
#2 - Monster Confusion - This ain't it either

So this must be IT then. Is it acquirement or *acquirement* - should I wait to read it at a lower level? You could use the help now though as your best object you've found is your second spell book and a +3,+4 short bow

I've been hit by the wrong spell book - especially in previous versions, but this one seems especially ick.

Another classic is drinking that potion of *Healing* or Healing


I mean, great I've id'd it - and sure I could use it, but it gone now...

At 450', on a 3-5 level, my same priest just drank both potions - three rooms apart.

5-9 on DL21 turned out to be rod of healing. Not complaining, it's nice but... 9?
Definitely nothing else worth mentioning on the level.

The number 9 does _not_ indicate value, just out-of-depthness. If rod of healing's native depth is low enough, it will trigger a 9, regardless of how useful a player might find it.

I suppose reading enough to hit scrolls is no longer an option, with them having gone from the shop. And by the time you can cast the spell, if at all, you dont want Calris anymore.

Even so...I wouldnt use Calris at all these days, unless maybe as a swap for dragons.

I really enjoy the weapons you can upgrade yourself even though they're not necessarily meta. My current character has the Glaive of Pain as a second weapon even though it's extremely heavy. I don't have Chaos resistance so I've got the Pick of Erebor as a main but it's been really fun watching the to hit go up from 0 to +10 on the Glaive and watch the damage and value increase.

Just found this on a 5-8 level at 1550 playing a human warrior

Still not worth that much. Right now I need my armor for base resists and I have dwarven mail waiting for me at home
