Dead Chemist That guy was friggen rough, but like anything else, once you survive for a while, you kinda get a feeling for how he operates and how to handle him. The key moment in the battle was when the Chemist was at 4 stars, but Slicer's supplies were starting to fade, I wan't sure he was going to pull it off, and started grimly contemplating a screenshot of a dead Slicer next to the Chemist at 1 star. Slicer noticed an un-IDed potion sitting on the ground, and circumstances gave him a round to pick it up, and another round later to ID it. A potion of invulnerability! Once back in the fray, Slicer quaffed it, and the Chemist let Slicer get almost the full time out of it before dispelling magic. Slicer took 2 stars off the Chemist during that time, and was definitely the difference in the battle. I'll get into the tactics I used in Slicer's dump, and, yes, Slicer was drained all the way down to level 44 during the fight. Posted on 30.11.2005 17:01 Comments? That Chemist is insanely difficult. I think Brian owes you an artifact. Perhaps he could make the Chemist a 4th lazy guardian, dropping the Katana 'Slicer' (15d5) (+30, +30) ... Still, that Chemist is awfully hard. Took WAY more resources than the Serpent, mostly because instead of standing and fighting, he throws summons at you and then blinks away. With the Serpent, you can teleport away, recover, and pick a new battleground, confident that the Serpent is on his way to you at that very moment and will arrive soon. The Chemist, on the other hand, might be on his way to you, but then again, he might be summoning a horde of uniques. On 5.12.2005 05:36 NeoTiamatI@fuse.net wrote: Wow, good job! What incredible luck with the !oInvulnerability! Being drained all the way to Clvl 44 is rough. :o No Rod of Restoration? Seen 2019 times. |
