The Thunderlord Coat of Lachalar (+61,+5) [9,+1](-120%) {cursed} Soft armour is light, and will not hinder your combat much. This suit of thick impregnated cloth is worn by the riders of flying steeds, and protects them from extremes of temperatures. It decreases your hit points by 120%. It provides resistance to acid, fire, cold and light. It drains experience. It fills you with the Black Breath. It is heavily cursed. It cannot be harmed by acid, cold, lightning or fire. It was given to you as a reward. This is even worse than the permanently cursed lance of -4 attacks and antimagic shell, antitelep shell I found in Cthangband. The difference being I can put mine on and still have 1700 hp. =P But now I can ask the question I was going to ask anyway. What happens to a suit of armor like this when you read a scroll of craftsmanship? Does it go to -100% or -140%? If no one knows, I guess I'll post back in a few weeks once I've found a scroll and tried it on my armor... You are dead, killed by putting on some armor. lol On 5.8.2005 16:01 dzhang@its.caltech.edu wrote: I remember putting on an armor like that once just to test it (it was only -100% HP though). It didn't insta-kill me.. it insta-killed ToME! I.e. it crashed, and when I tried to restart it, it would display an error message and exit. I had to redownload ToME, and then port over my savefiles (minus that one... I didn't want to risk loading up that guy again >_<) On 5.8.2005 16:06 dzhang@its.caltech.edu wrote: Oh, and you can't read an ?oCraftsmanship on it, because it's an armor and not a weapon. ?oCraftsmanship only works on weapons. Well now I will have to consider wearing the armor and taking the drop in life to gain huge hit/dam bonuses. I want to have my cake too!
