Dragons...it seemed like a good idea... 1. I thought letting a GWoP summon a few times would be a good way to level and gain some treasure, even though I'm in Angband. After all, Super Mormegil makes me nearly invincible. Right? 2. I started the battle with 2900 hp, and was delighted when he summoned a Sky Drake and a GWoP along with a few others. 3. Three of those dragons are GWoPs and things have not gone as well as I had hoped... Somewhere between 2. and 3. I realized that screwing around with level 125 GWoPs is really, really stupid no matter how many hp you have. That means I can't spread blows, and you only get back 100 hp per flurry against a monster. So basically I only get back 100 hp each round. On the previous level, which was one of those tiny one-room deals, I did let Barbazu and Balrogs summon out of control. I had to wade through Vrocks (thank God you can drain from Vrocks) until I reached one of the staircases. I tried to turn on the summoners but every time I made a little progress, 1 Barbazu would summon 15 more. So we decided we'd rather play with dragons. :) By the by, after several teleports and 4 new theaters of battle, I managed to kill all the dragons on this level.
